Christmas Decoration & Gift Giving Idea's with Scrapmatts

Hello again :)

Every year in our house and to make Christmas a little more exciting,  ( mainly for me ).....I like to pick a different colour scheme for our decorations. So this year we are going with the colours
 WHITE~~~GOLD~~~SILVER

Over at SCRAPMATTS  this month the design team were asked to create a Christmas decoration and  I went with my 2013  Christmas colours
Here is what I created.....

(sorry the photo is a little dark)
So to create this I have used the Scrapmatts Heart Mini Tray 01, (CB3006) which I painted white. Between the 2 layers I have placed a bit of cardstock (which I put through the cuttlebug with a embossing folder). I then dry brushed some gesso over the pattern, added a little muslin then glued together the layers. I then painted one of the Reindeers 07 (CB5050) and a gorgeous Holly 01 (CB1104) with gesso and then when dry, painted the Reindeer and berries (on holly) with Silks Acrylic Glaze in Solar Gold. I then stuck these into place and added some gorgeous Satin Seam Binding and other ribbons in Gold & Silver. The final touch was adding the zipper pull to the bottom and Lobster claw clasp to the top.
The second DT task was to create something in relation to gift giving.
I chose to make 3 special Gift Tags for my children's teacher's.

So I have used the Tags 05 (CB3009)
I have used Scrapmatts Card Borders 04 (CB1080).

for this Male Teacher tag I have also used Scrapmatts Gears 05 (CB1078) and Scrapmatts Scrapwords 07 (CB1199) and the Scrapwords 10 (CB1207).

With this tag I have run it through the cuttlebug with one of my favorite embossing folders, painted with gesso, inked edges added flowers, a cute little brass button, tiny twine, muslin and a few strips of pp.
The added flowers and goodies are from the AWESOME

CRAFT QUEEN

I Hope the Teacher's like them?

Cheers

Hello everyone!!!

Well as some of you would already know I've made it onto the
CSI
design team

(I am sooooo happy to be amongst such a talent group of ladies)
CSI stands for Color-Stories-Inspiration
I love how this site gets you thinking!!!
Take a look at Case File #97
(great colour combo)

So in case you aren't sure how it goes.....you need to use ALL the colours (but the colours can be in your embellishments etc).
Then you need to pick at least 2 or more things from the EVIDENCE list to include on your layout and finally from the TESTIMONY list given you need to combine 1 or more things in relation to your journalling.
Once a month Em Stafrace gives us a fantastic sketch to use!!!

Here is what I created using the above

{Dancer}

 Scheme- all colours
Evidence- Frame, leaves, grid design-(plasters tape).
Testimony- Dancing with the feet is one thing but dancing with the heart is another.
(Written on back of layout). Sidney you always give everything your all!!! Your inner love of life truly shines through especially when you are enjoying yourself. Your smile shines bright!!!
I have used Em's Sketch but have flipped it.

I have used flowers and trim from
&
a beautiful ornate frame from
I have also used some Spellbinder dies, (which I think are just beautiful!!!) and a few buttons and eyelets.
I do hope you will pop on over to CSI and have a look around and give one of the weekly challenges a go?!  Then just load your layout into the gallery so we can so your awesome creation!!!

Wet & Wild.....Scrapmatts November Challenge!

Hi all it's my turn to host the

NOVEMBER CHALLENGE
over at SCRAPMATTS
I thought I would like to inspire you to get a little
'Wet & Wild'
with your SCRAPMATTS

Now if you have never played with your chippies in this way I will show you how it's done!!

 You will need- Scrapmatts Chipboard
Water spritzer (or you can use glimmermist).
Plastic surface to work on.

Now simply wet the chipboard using either water or mist
(You need to wet the chipboard quite a lot)
Another method is to spray a waterproof surface with ample water or mist and then place your chipboard piece into the liquid.
Now leave this to absorb the liquid for around 4-5 minutes.

Now very gently take the chipboard, (it will be soft and fragile). Carefully start to separate the layers.
Try not to lift all the way through....so just lifting the edges.

Once happy leave to dry, completely
Once dry you can paint etc.
Below is a close-up of how I have used this technique on a layout.

Hope you will give my little challenge a go!?
A $25.00 Scrapmatts Voucher is up for grabs

To be eligible, your creation MUST have Scrapmatts on it.
And be added to the Scrapmatts gallery.
Thanks for stopping
Cheers
